Rule n° 122 - Videos have synchronized subtitles.

Subtitles are fundamental for deaf users, but not only for them. As soon as a user is unable to access sound, subtitles become irreplaceable. They give access to content, they can be used by anyone.

Goal

  • Allow deaf users to access video content.
  • Allow all users to access the content of the video.
  • Improve the accessibility of content for people with disabilities.

Solution technique

Associate synchronized subtitles with all video content containing at least the information given by the spoken word.

For all video content providing information through speech, check that it can be read using synchronised subtitles.
