Spam is bad enough, do not give it a boost. Make sure that the registration for your newsletter can only be made by the true holder of the email address.

  • Prevent third parties from subscribing someone else to a newsletter.
  • Check that the email address was input correctly.


Send an email allowing registration to be completed by entering a password, clicking on a hyperlink, etc.


This verification requires subscription to the relevant newsletter.

For each website offering subscription to a newsletter:

  • Perform a test registration and check for the receipt of a confirmation email.
