Rule n° 48 - The identity of third parties involved in transactions is specified.

A transactional process may lead a web user to visit the site of a bank that is not his or her own or of a service provider. Indicating the names of the service providers will limit surprises and sometimes even serve to reinforce confidence by capitalising on the reputation of those involved.

Goal

  • Provide users information about partners involved in the transaction

Implementation

Show on the site information about the banking service providers and or payment solutions used for electronic transactions.

Control

On the shopping basket page (also called the shopping cart), in the legal notices, the FAQ and/or help page of an e-commerce website:

  • Check that there is information on the banking service providers and/or payment solutions used for electronic transactions. At the very least, the bank or service provider will be identified by the presence of a logo.
